6 Ways to Update Your Career Wardrobe for Spring

Well, spring is finally here at last! As spring is often thought of as a time of renewal, now is as good as any to think about updating your career wardrobe a bit.

Where to start though?

#1 - Think Bright

Well, first one should think about colors; after all, the spring wardrobes on runways do favor certain “fresh” looking colors this season. Some of these colors can include light shades of turquoise blue, coral rose, lavender, silver, yellow and yes – even pink.

#2 - Accessorize, accessorize, accessorize!

To update the look of your spring career wardrobe, it is relatively easy to add new accessories to achieve a more fresh spring-like look. For instance, you can add scarves, handbags, belts and shoes in the spring season’s more trendy light colors.

#3 - Think About Fashion Staples

While your jackets and blazers from last spring may be perfectly serviceable, you can think about updating your wardrobe with a more modern look. Of course, you can also consider buying these staples in the new trendy light colors that are so popular this season.

#4 - Update Your Neutrals

Most of you probably already own “tried and true” office attire in various shades of neutral tones such as taupe, gray, navy, black and the like. If you wish to brighten up these neutrals somewhat, you can pare these neutrals with brighter more spring-like colors. For instance, you can add a bright top underneath a neutral blazer and pant suit.

#5 - Consider Adding a Floral Piece

As a more feminine look is popular this season, if it is appropriate at your place of work, you can consider adding a feminine piece such as a floral dress. You can then pair this floral dress with a sophisticated looking cardigan or blazer to make the look a more polished one.

#6 - Change Up Your Make-up

While you may be accustomed to wearing your make-up a certain way everyday to work, think about changing your make-up a bit for spring. Now we are not talking about making drastic changes here – as your look must be workplace appropriate, but you can make some small changes to give your look a quick update. For instance, you can choose a new lipstick color that complements your skin tone.

Now that you have some ideas – what steps are you taking to update your spring career wardrobe?
